Come and bring a friend to the Wisdom Wood Outdoor Classroom at Montgomery Botanical Gardens on Saturday morning at 10AM to learn how to multiply your plants for yourself, to share with friends and family or to donate to plant sales. The weather looks like it will be a nice cool morning. Rhona Watson, Advanced Master Gardener, from Elmore County will be demonstrating and instructing the class on the various methods of propagation for different types of plants. Rhona has been a Master Gardener since 2005 and achieved certification as an Advanced Master Gardener in Propagation. Her favorite activities are making more plants for the garden, friends, and the Master Gardener Plant Sales, giving presentations and sharing her knowledge. She also has a passion for Bonsai with over 20 in her garden. She also enjoys collecting and grafting Japanese Maples. With the information she will provide in the class, you can multiply your plants for your own landscape or garden or you can share with others.
The class is free to the public and donations to MBG are always appreciated. Pick up a MBG Brochure at the sign-in table and use the enclosed form to become a supporting member of MBG. MBG funding relies on membership dues, donations and grants, so your support is sincerely appreciated.
There is bench seating in the classroom, but you may prefer to bring a folding chair. Bottled water will be available. Before or after the class, plan to take a stroll through the Southern Garden, the Green Bridges Pollinator Gardens, the Fitzgerald Biblical Garden, the Japanese Maple Garden and Hosta Garden to see the early fall changes of color and form. Enjoy your Montgomery Botanical Gardens green spaces in the midst of this urban environment.
