If you have not enjoyed a stroll through the Montgomery Botanical Gardens in the last couple of months, you have really missed an opportunity to view the glorious changing of the seasons. The multicolored leaves as they change and fall give notice that a new season is approaching. The late blooms of the Canna Lilies, the Salvia and the Snap Dragons provide a rainbow palate of color in all directions. The waning blooms in the Pollinator Gardens remain beautiful and continue to attract visiting bees, butterflies and other pollen and nectar gatherers. Even the large, round browning blossoms of the Limelight Hydrangea share their own form of beauty with the gardens.
If that is not enough to impress you and entice you into the gardens, now the Sasanqua Camellias begin to show up and show out with their pale pink, deep pink and red blossoms that fall like colorful snow on the ground as they age. These shrubs are outstanding specimens for photography or just for viewing. The white Encore Azaleas add to the welcoming atmosphere of the MBG Entrance along with the two new urns that are planted with trailing plants.
You will not regret taking a little trip to the gardens, strolling through, resting on benches along the way, observing the beauty of nature that has been gathered into this spot and feeling the peace and relaxation it all offers. Happy Thanksgiving!
